Pipe Volume Calculator

Summate the book of a pipe given its inner diameter and length. The figurer will too find how much that volume of water weighs.

How to Observe the Volume of a Pipe

The volume of fluid in a pipe can be found given the inner diameter of the piping and the length. To estimate pipe volume, use the post-obit formula:

volume = π × dii / four × h

Thus, the volume of a pipe is equal to pi times the pipe bore d squared over 4, times the length of the pipe h.

Illustration showing the parts of a pipe and the formula to calculate pipe volume

This formula is derived from the cylinder volume formula, which can too exist used if yous know the radius of the pipage.

volume = π × rtwo × h

Alternate formula to find pipe volume using radius

Find the bore and length of the pipe in inches or millimeters. Use our feet and inches calculator to summate a length in inches or millimeters.

If you're unsure what the inner diameter of a pipe is simply y'all know the outer diameter refer to the common piping dimensions tables to find the virtually likely inner bore of your pipe.

Enter the length and diameter values into the formula above to calculate the volume of the pipe.

Example: calculate the book of a 2″ bore piping that is 50′ long

length = 50′ × 12 = 600″
book = π × 22 / 4 × 600″
volume = three.1415 × 4 / four × 600″
book = 3.1415 × 1 × 600″
volume = 1885 iniii
